New and existing professional staff are given a comprehensive Curriculum Plan that provides specific examples of curriculum documents required for planning and preparation for each of the career and technical education programs.

Overview

The 2015-2019, 37-page Curriculum Plan, developed by school administrators for both newly hired and veteran teachers, includes a wealth of information such as guidance on where to locate a syllabus for students, instructions on creating weekly lesson plans, task lists for particular career specialties, and information on grading policies.

Origin / Implementation

The Curriculum Plan has been available since the 2015-2016 school year and was suggested by an administrator who heard of the idea while participating in the New Director Academy.

Results / Impact

Possession of the Curriculum Plan by every teacher emphasizes the importance of curriculum planning and preparation and leads to uniformity and alignment of the curriculum, whether it’s written, taught, or tested. Such alignment leads to improved student achievement.
